Is Pat Burns dead?

Apparently there are some rumors floating around that Pat Burns is dead.

TSN has a pretty hilarious story that says he is not.

On a phone call the not-so-dead former coach said:

Burns phoned TSN on Friday.

“Here we go again,” said the three-time NHL coach of the year. “They’re trying to kill me before I’m dead. I come to Quebec to spend some time with my family and they say I’m dead. I’m not dead, far (expletive) from it. They’ve had me dead since June. Tell them I’m alive. Set them straight.”

We assume the “(expletive)” was an f-bomb, all class that Burns.

Kovalchuk is still a Devil

Kovalchuk has signed a massive 17 year deal with the New Jersey Devils.

Not really a shocker to anyone, the other teams in talks with him didn’t really have the room to afford his insane contract, $102 Million dollars over 17 years.

Full details here – http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=327880

In other news Simon Gagne is now part of the Tampa Bay Lightning, that news is a bit overshadowed with the Kovy deal.
