NHL Injury Report February 20th

It seems like every day there is an injury in the NHL. Here is a list of recent injury reserve activations:

John-Michael Liles (Col – D) Wrist
Justin Williams (Car – RW) Broken hand
Brad Richards (Dal – C) IR  Fractured right wrist
Patrick Sharp (Chi – C,LW) Lower-body injury
Fredrik Modin (Cls – LW) Strained left knee

Keep in mind these are only the players that have been put on IR, there are plenty of other injuries that are listed as day to day.

Dan Bylsma looks to toughen up the Penguins

The slumping Pens are going back to basics with new coach Dan Bylsma working them hard in practice. Michel Therrien was let go on Sunday and Bylsma wasted no time in getting to work.

“I’m not interested in playing a 50/50 game, I’m not interested in seeing how the first period goes, I want us to establish our identity and how we need to play,” Bylsma said. “When you play that way, the scales tip in your favour. Those are the odds I like to bring to a game. Whether we’re coming into New York, we’re going into Philly, this is the way we’re going to play and if we play that way, we’re going to have success.”
